Anya Taylor-Joy plays Emma exactly as Austen envisioned her heroine. This shopping feature will continue to load items when the Enter key is pressed. Jane Austen's beloved comedy about finding your equal and earning your happy ending is reimagined in this delicious new film adaptation of Emma. Even this Austen reader (I've read the novel at least 8 times and watched all the adaptations multiple times) found the changes to be necessary and in no way distracting or diminishing to the story.
I watched it because I am a Jane Austen fan and a fan of Bill Nye and Miranda Hart. And the last thing we all needed was to see Mr. Knightly's backside in the first 10 minutes. The script is very well done. Customer Review: Emma 2020 Trailer. Definitely not worth the nearly $20 rental fee not even for purchase. Absolutely pathetic.
"Badly done Emma, badly done." The acting was unconvincing. The movie was a complete insult to Jane Austen from farting babies to bloody noses, REALLY?
The cast is great; every actor brings their A game.

There's a difference, and the tone of this is very, very snotty. Also, the men (excepting Nighy and the Colonel) all look as if they've only recently emerged from puberty. If you actually like Jane Austen, don't watch this movie This near perfect adaptation both proves and disproves Miss Austen's view of her protagonist. In Stock.
I always loved this story so I splurged partlyHow of war board I’m being quarantined and the other part because I do enjoy the movie it’s self however I am very sad and extremely disappointed that I actually paid that price. Also, the men (excepting Nighy and the Colonel) all look as if they've only recently emerged from puberty. If you actually like Jane Austen, don't watch this movie Engaging. Awkward and uncomfortable. I have no idea why people are not giving this a better rating. Inexcusable.
The screenplay and the director and actors who bring it to life catch every ounce of Austen's humor and her outstanding ability to move a caricature into a beloved character worthy of affection. Charming. Be Patient and wait for it to come out on rental.

Flynn is a very appealing romantic hero and well suited to this cast and production.

Austen's Emma, I believe is snob, not a snot.
In Stock. I really like the theatrical stage feel of this production; many of the scenes have the look and feel of period paintings. I will be watching and watching again so I can take in all the details. I have read the novel and seen all of the makes/remakes of this story and this one is just as lovely (and a little more fun) that all of them. Absolutely pathetic. See other DVD options under “Other Formats & Versions”. I suspect Johnny Lee Miller will always be my favorite Mr. Knightley. Your recently viewed items and featured recommendations The story itself is wonderful and this remake was great. Inexcusable. Emma Woodhouse is a young woman that lives like a queen in her small town as she is known for being clever and rich.
This will not play on most DVD players sold in the U.S., U.S. Some of the absolute best settings, costuming, and staging of any period production I have ever seen. Beautiful costumes and colors yet the characters were caricatures with awkward servants in many scenes.
I almost found it rather boring. Miss Austen was always making social commentary in her novels and this film captures the artificiality and privilege of the Regency high society while also showing all the characters, even the abundance of unnamed servants, as profoundly human individuals. Beautiful.
