While we both feel it leans unisex, we aren’t convinced that the majority of men would find it to be truly unisex or masculine. It's sexy without trying too hard. Unique scent. Second review: I don't know what I sniffed couple of days ago, but this is absolutely gorgeous cozy vanilla - aromatic with delicate spices. I like vanilla based perfumes but the vanilla here is slight. It's a lot like a Jimmy Choo Shalimar combo that's not as candied as Choo. One of my favourite late autumn/winter fragrances. I probably put too much on and the bay vanilla explosion was not working. Beautiful heavy bottle. Just one small spray and people will be commenting on it. I imagine a sexy, intellectual corporate type in this. Le Parfum is incredibly beautiful in warm weather! It does smell classy though, definitely mature. Please read the Terms of Service and Privacy policy. Somehow it is different to me now. Until I discovered Shalimar EDC with its leather+citrus+vanilla. Don't be fooled by the opening, which is a bit unusual. I can not imagine wearing this in the summer, but it's perfect for cold and damp weather. On me it smells like a very spicy powdery vanilla but it stays pretty close to skin maybe it will have better performance on clothes. What a huge disappointment , a low grade fragrance with great names attached to it ! The "sandalwood" is noticeable but as with many fragrances that list sandalwood these days, it smells a little generic sawdust-y but since it doesn't dominate, doesn't wreck the scent for me. I am sampling Lalique Le Parfum at the moment and the more I wear it the more I love it. Usually, I find vanilla note to be too sweet or too powerful, but this vanilla fragrance is so well blended with other beautiful notes like heliotrope and pink pepper. Sillage low to medium and duration good. Could I ever think that I would say something resembles an ashtray in a good sense! I never had such a strange experience where the smells turns to an absolutely different group of perfumes three times. A scent that is bold, unique and dare I say, is not perfume-y- by that I mean that it reminds me more of a sort of extravagant fabric you would wear that will make people turn around to get a second glimpse of you in relation to a pretty scent you would want to impress others or yourself. I told them, and also that I couldn't smell anything myself, and they insisted that I write down the name of my perfume on a piece of paper. Wow, talk about a STEAL!! I bought it blind. Once again, another lesson in not giving up on a fragrance too soon. There are a few parts of the spectrum I may intentionally skip over here and there, but I can’t expect myself to love it all. Wow, opulent beautiful surprise from Denmark))). So much so I just couldn't bare the opening. It's not super interesting and some might even call it a bit bland, but overall I think it's a cozy cool weather scent for what seems practically free these days, price wise. To me the new and the old ones are so similar, that one can make a difference only if they spray both on both hands and compare. Over all it is a nice perfume interesting for a Vanilla perfume. I tried this perfume in my 20s and didn’t like it, I thought it smelled too ‘mature’. If I smell it up close on myself I get a terre d'hermes vibe. The bay note stood out more vivid...The difference between two formulas is not huge, just enough to be noticeable. I love the bay leaf note at the top! I bought it for my wife and love it, she likes it too. I blind bought and I do like it. Also, my husband hasn't said anything negative, so that's a good sign! I'll always have this in my collection ~ She is a wanted addition ~ Welcome Home ~ ///=^} ~. I blind bought this based on my love of vanillas and gourmands. It was a blind buy based on YouTube reviews. It's very interesting fragrance, but I can't stand West Indian Bay on me, because I prefer it in the soup:). This transforms the loudness of the day, into the comfort necessary to weather the night, and stifle the tensions of the world around me. I have this....it's long lasting and smells very much like an expensive perfume worn by someone with a lot of money. This was my favourite winter scent when I was living in London. I'd LOVE to smell this on a guy, actually, I feel like it would go so well with natural dude smell, like a subtle enhancer of it rather than a harsh cologne. Totally addictive! I couldn’t get past the bay leaf. A unique and worthy full bottle. On the right person I'm sure it would smell lovely, it just doesn't work for me at all :(. This perfume is a BEAST! The vanilla is sweet but not edible sweet, similar to Hypnothic Poison. This is the best vanilla. I think Le parfum is really a strange one, not typical feminine sweet vanilla scent. There's also a strange sour, sweet, dusty tobacco vibe. It's too masculine for me. I love vanilla and tonka perfumes but I don't get much of either in this at this point (from beginning to about hour 4) or it's so unsweet, I don't recognize it. If you were to ask me a year ago to like this perfume, I would notice the powdery notes and immediately dismiss whatever I was sampling. I love this perfume, it's so unique, dusty, glamorous! It’s amazing quality! High quality gem, a very original composition which stands out of the mainstream commercial perfumes. This is lovely to me and if any expert nose has a idea of what note gives this perfume it's powderyness (heliotrope)? In tiny amounts, I find it calming to sniff. Swiss Made: ausgewählte Uhren mit bis 50% Rabatt! It's already on my want list. Overall, Le Parfum is an excellent gourmand scent with good performance. Definate compliment getter. For me there is no dominant note in this and it is a very well balanced scent. Longevity was moderate, lasted around 4 hours on my skin, but the bay leaf scent was so off putting to me, I had to sell this one. out of If you're looking for strong tonka, try it out. I love it. My husband finds the dry down to be too feminine while I find the top notes to be a bit masculine for me liking. It is a high quality scent that really possesses that “Je ne sais quoi”! If I were a man, I'd follow this scent (and its wearer) till the end of time:). Onother brilliant blind buy! Fragrance Reviews: 1043080 When I was a child, sometimes we would find a stalk of dried, smoke cured tobacco fallen from a transport truck and laid on the black top baking in the hot sun. I love the spicy bay/pink pepper top notes here, the feminine heliotrope and jasmine florals, that sweet rich tonka, vanilla, patch base. This fragrance is for a quick run to the gas station for a pop or for your ride to work in a non-fragrance office environment. So long lasting and lovely. Okay, I said that smells kind of strange, not unpleasant, just not what I expected. Then I thought of sweet pipe tobacco and finally La Mome by Pierre Balmain. Very sweet, very vanilla forward, it's classy and sexy but sort of in a 90s manner, which gives it this nostalgic vintage-esque vibe. The vanilla-sage combo works well, and makes this pretty versatile, but remains super linear. For some reason I think I was expecting this crazy heavy silage bomb. Wonderful fragrance. It lasts along time with great sillage, another bonus. When l wear this, a lot of women come close and become very friendly and give great compliments. Fragrantica® Inc, San Diego, CA United States, Complex and very well balanced oriental vanilla, not too gourmand, more mysterious and not sweet. It´s a piece of art, so beautiful. I’d call this a delicious chilly vanilla. And it turns out to me much more than I expected! I see the appeal, and it could be the perfect fit for someone else but this just does not feel like "me". Just this sticking vanilla cake scent. Aromatic bay gives this an undercurrent of freshness almost savory...so much so that I would say it’s appropriate to wear on a dinner date or an event where food features, much like Luca Turin said of Shalimar. Not sure why everyone gets so much of the west Indian bay, I think it smells more like a spicy vanilla. I was hoping for a sexy almond vanilla bomb, but when I sprayed this on my skin I was treated instead to a blast of Robitussin DM. I didn't even recognize this scent from what I first sprayed on my hand. It’s worth buying for the bottle alone! Extremely enveloping, warm and with a lot of class. I find this to be a unique scent. Before I got a sample of this Parfum quite by chance, I was only vaguely aware of Lalique as a perfume maker; my only previous experience with this venerable brand was of admiring their wonderful glasswork in museums. I blind bought it thinking "How bad can it be?". I figured it was good timing. Ridiculously good. The crowd around would be pleased as well, given that I was longing to please it. The bottle impressed me the most. Much less “classic” than Shalimar, this balmy and balsamic vanilla is warm and delicious, but really needs solidly cold temperatures to shine properly, IMO.
