best pokemon game reddit

Both of them are good.Sinnoh: Platinum is your best pick outta these three. The standard increased selection and “more to do” applies to USUM, and to me it feels like a more complete game.Personally it has to be Emerald, currently imo it has the best rival gang fight that makes sense. This generation has some of the best quality-of-life features, like the PSS (which is also in the Hoenn remakes) and a GTS that still works. Pretty good post game.8th: HeartGold and SoulSilver. Way too easy and very little post game, but otherwise it's great. Most people’s complaint about Gen 4 (aside from not having many fire types besides Chimchar) is that battles take a while. If you're new to the franchise, I'd suggest you play Emerald, then Platinum, then Gen 5.Emerald is an oldschool game but still a lovely region and interesting lore and story, plus if you're into that sort of thing it has a great postgame with the battle frontier. But as a new player, the graphics may be a bit of a turn off so I would suggest Heart Gold/Soul Silver which are just remakes of the Gold/Silver/Crystal (Gen II) games.Okay,so generally it's considered that HeartGold/SoulSilver are one of the contenders of the best Pokémon title, although you probably should play Red/Blue/Green/Yellow or their remakes FireRed/LeafGreen before them.So another one that is generally considered one of the best Pokémon games is Platinum, which is what I recommend you play next.Black 2/White2 are also some of the best games in the series, but you need to play Black/White before them, which are also highly praised. But they only contain Unova Pokémon till the post-game,so maybe you should get Platinum first to first learn more about the previous Pokémon?Or maybe not. There is also Emerald, the third version of Ruby/Sapphire,and there are also their remakes OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire.Some say Emerald is better and others think ORAS is better.I personally recommend playing ORAS instead of Emerald, and you can go play that one later.I think that's about it for now.You should go play Platinum. The plot is the blandest part of it, but it's just such a good Pokemon adventure besides that!BW: really enjoyed that it's only Unova Pokemon, and also really liked it's post game! I do like them all but will always go back to the original one I played lolPlatinum ss/hg are the peak (generally among community)Bw b2w2 are good now but at the time, we were all grumpy teens so didn’t buy them - excusing lazier games to be madePlatinum. Not the best fan-made pokemon game but will do as a fan-made game" Refering to: 14. Pokemon Planet. I still love them but they are way outclassed by the newer games.Black 2 and White 2. They’re good games but i think it also has to do with the fact that most of the sub grew up playing these ones.i think xy are the best but currently reddit thinks either platinum, hgss or b2w2X and Y are a great introduction to the series, if that's what you're looking for. While I have played a few other Pokemon games (Diamond & Pearl, Heart Gold & Soul Silver, and Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire), I have to say that Platinum is the best Pokemon game of all time, as well as it still being my favorite one to play today. They have a good postgame, i guess. The story takes up too much for how bland it is, and the flat characters take up a lot of room too. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcutsWhat's the matter?

If you have no objection to emulating games, you could download a GBA emulator and a base ROM of Sigma Emerald (downloading the base ROM, or pre-patched version, is easier than patching it yourself IMO).

I would skip.Haven't played Black/White, X&Y Gen3 Remakes or Sun and Moon.Do you mean main line? New adventure, PWT, Collecting Medals, Join Avenue and so much more. I'm pretty sure not a single one of my pokemon fainted until the fourth gym.Red/Blue/Yellow. Add in the extra difficulty USUM did and they're almost perfect! The remakes (Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire) have a better selection of Pokemon, remasters of all the music for better or worse, and some of the best features like sneaking, analog movement, and the DexNav. These games have a much more mature story than the other games and touches pretty heavily on the ethics of the Pokemon World. All of them. But that was it, it was really pretty, but lacked a good core of content.Didn't play any of the Gen I games, as well the original Gen II, Gen III and USUM, so I can't comment on these. Finally someone that agrees Gen V sprites are good.I've only played four of the main games, Blue, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, and Ultra Sun.Probably the weakest was Sun...the game just sort of ends. Maybe it's the weird Pokemon distribution (you only find new water types beyond a certain point), or the fact that Hoenn is the least connected to other regions out of the Japan based regions. It could be a little weird to go back, since these are the only games on the list before the physical-special split, but I recommend it for the best Kanto experience.Johto: Definitely go with HeartGold and SoulSilver for this one. With 16 gym leaders to best, HeartGold and SoulSilver remain the deepest, lengthiest Pokémon games ever created. Gen 2 had the best 'mons imho, and the best map. while still retaining the base gameplay and charm of the original Emerald. Red and blue are very dated. dont care about genres, beast, anthro, gay, straight, noncon.... what ever is fine. There’s also the most stuff to do after you beat the game. The post-game was feeble and that especially didn't mesh with a weak Champion, leaving the end of the game kinda sour.Black & White: It's a story game, and it's very good at that.
