All staff were polite and friendly. it was a very long walk down to the port area where the food, views and shops were and then a long walk or cab ride back up the slope to the hotel.Nice location (very close to old port), but a bit difficult to find since it is almost surrounded by the Bourse/Lafayette shopping center. I bought my son-in-law a cushion from Galleries Lafayette next door, and I had to use my daughter’s travel neck pillow as a inverted horse-shoe pillow. The hotel is old and tired, clean enough but barley, no outside space, no views of anything pretty, poor grade towels & bed sheets, tiny rooms and deep in a refugee area. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of hot and cold food and excellent croissants. The staff are all friendly and helpful.I will say the front desk and the bar employees were great, friendly and very helpful. On the whole, a very enjoyable stay. Nice staff.
Does Mercure Marseille Centre Vieux Port offer any business services?Yes, it conveniently offers a business centre, meeting rooms, and a banquet room. Other than that, the hotel and the room were both exceptionally well equipped and lovely (except the lighting in the room -- the front desk neglected to let us know that we were supposed to leave the key card in a wall slot that controlled the lights in the room, so we had about 3 minutes of total confusion with lights going on and off). The hotel was located very conveniently close to both metro and tram stops for easy travel around the city and easy walking to the Old Port with its restaurants.
